Installing CPU (Processor) and Cooler...

Installing the CPU and Cooler

Ok, so now you got your motherboard ready for all the other hardware installation..

Now im going to give you a brief guide on how to install your CPU..

Ok when u receive your CPU package, u will notice that there's the heatsink and fan inside and the processor itself...but there's one more thing that's missing..the thermalpaste..
U will have to buy this separately..if you still have not purchase one..read my guide on the "Buying the thermalpaste" section..

Ok,so let's get started..

So the first thing you have to do is to open the "WARNING Note Sign!!" plastic plate from the socket, be gentle with this as not to hit the plate into the socket upon opening..

Here's are some pictures shown below:

Ok, so u now have the socket half naked..LOL!!

Now all u have to do is open the socket, and by doing that u have to make use of small silver lever located at the side of the socket. To open the socket, juz push the bar down
to unlock it from the hook and pull up the bar and lift up the metal cover to reveal the pins..Now the socket is totally naked..LOL!!

Here are some pictures to guide u all..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok this is the most important part of the CPU installation, u have to read this a few times before installing one as not to have any mistake when placing the CPU..
U will notice that the CPU is in square shape, so which section or angle of the CPU do you need to use for placing the CPU? Well that's easy..

You will notice a small yellow arrow on one side of the CPU..take note of this..

An example is below..

Now, let's move on to the socket, u will also notice a small arrow on one side of the socket, it's quite hard to see since the colour is camouflaged by the socket..it's usually located near the silver lever..

Once you have spotted it, u will then need to rotate your Cpu towards the yellow arrow and align it together with the socket's arrow..now carefully and gently place the CPU on the socket..DO NOT FORCE IT INSIDE..

An example is below:

If you did it correctly, the cpu will fit into the socket..

An example is below..

Now..to firmly locked the Cpu into place, just rewind the steps for "opening the socket to reveal the pins"...U will notice that when u want to put back the bar into place, u have
to use large amount of force to put in back into its original state. You dont need to worry about this..this is extremely fine..

Here's are two pictures of the steps:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok so now u have to install your CPU Cooler, before that u have to place the thermal paste on top of the CPU...

Now, dont apply so much of the thermalpaste as it would get messy. You will only need to appply equivalent to the size of a pea and evenly distributed it to the other areas of the CPU..

Here are two pictures of the steps:

i think by showing you a video guide, u will clearly understand the amount im referring..=)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so now take your CPU cooler and check on the legs..Make sure all the four push-pins on the cooler are opened as shown below:

Now..also check for the arrows, when you are going to install one, make sure that the arrow are facing outwards..like the one shown below:

If the arrow is facing inwards, rotate it to bring it outwards.U will only need to face inwards when u are going to separate the cooler from the motherboard..

An example is shown below:

Ok..so now u have to take note of the four holes surrounding the socket..

An example is shown below..

Place the legs of the cooler in the four holes shown below:

And when you did it correctly, there will be a snap sound and the legs should be locked like the one shown below:

Finally, the last thing that you are gonna do is to connect the CPU fan connector to the pins..

An example is shown below:

That's it..You are done with the CPU and cooler babe..LOL!! Ok so the next thing u have to focus is installing the RAMs, this is a much easier procedure than installing the CPU..=)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have included in the links section under the video reviews of some of detailed and great reviews of computer hardware...this will help you in installing the computer components..=)

Hope this answer your question. If you have any enquiries, feel free to bring it up in the tagboard or you can comment it here..=)
